Pictures from my new phone

I’ve decided to post a few pictures I’ve taken with my new phone (a Sony Ericsson K800i). Mainly to show off what I think are nice pictures. I’ve also taken the opportunity to start using Flickr to host my photos. Should free up some bandwidth on my web hosting. 🙂

The first one is a picture of the Port of Liverpool Building and the Liver Building I took on the way home one night from work. I was very impressed with the clarity of the picture despite the size of the lens on the phone.

Now this one is the same scene but taken by zooming in. Now I’ve realised that I need to get a camera with a proper optical zoom. A digital zoom just doesn’t cut it.

The scene looks stunning from a thumbnail – the water was incredibly still leading to a perfect reflection. But when you look at the full size image you realise how blurry it is.

Oh well. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a proper camera soon and take a decent picture of something like this.

Despite this I’m quite happy with it.

This picture was taken on a completely different night in the Lifeworx Cafe (or as Mark would call it the ‘Lifestyle Cafe’.) It is a picture of a candle in a glass, but taken in negative. Because of the closeness of the phone to the object being photographed it is surprisingly clear. I am really happy with this photo.
